Dr. Dasha Goody Memorial Foundation Scholarships
Purpose and Criteria
Purpose of the Award: To provide project-specific funding assistance to a vocal performing arts student for the purpose of advancing their Musical Theatre Training.
Who is Eligible to Apply: Any Alberta vocal performing artist interested in
advancing their training at a post-secondary institution. Past award recipients may apply if they are eligible under the criteria of attending a post-secondary institution.
Application Deadline: Applications deadline for 2021 is TBA.
Distribution of Funding: The total amount available for 2021 is TBA.
Accountability: Any artist who has been awarded a grant will be required to submit a report to the Foundation detailing their studies which the grant supported.
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Fill out the application form.
2. Assemble the application package to include:
- Completed application form
- Resume (including photo, previous training and courses completed in the performing arts)
- Two reference letters by other artists and/or instructors in the performing arts
3. A DVD submission showcasing your performing skills in high definition.
- Must be from a performance within the last six months
- Maximum length is three minutes
- Must include close-ups and wide shots to help evaluate interpretive and movement skills.
- Submissions SHOULD NOT be of past performance in a group setting. Solo selections only are acceptable.
Digital video submissions will not be considered i.e. No video clips via email, or youtube links, etc.
Please preview your disc on a DVD player prior to submitting your application. If the Committee cannot view your submission, you will be disqualified.
